Ryan Gangwish is a ceramic artist based on Long Island, creating functional and sculptural work with a focus on form, texture, and process.

I’ve been working with clay for the past three years, drawn to the balance between control and unpredictability that the material offers.

My work explores geometric form and surface, fired through both atmospheric (wood, soda, raku) and cone 6 firing processes. I’m interested in how structure and spontaneity interact with one another, both in the process of making, and in the final form.
